All India e-visa may be availed for three times

In case of all India e-visa applications, the
applicants should have a legal machine-readable passport for 6 months from
the date of arrival in India. Besides, the passport must have 2 blank pages
for stamping and pages need not be next to each other.

Regular India Tourist Visa:
The India tourist visa is usually applied by
foreign nationals who are not a resident of India or are working in India.
The activities included in this visa are restricted to meeting friends,
relatives, tourism, attending weddings or sightseeing. In case of other
activities, India visa will be needed. The validity is one
year, however this depends completely on the embassy and short validity may
even be granted. India tourist visa will not be extended from India and the
applicant has to return before the expiry of their visa.
Apart from visa application form, the applicants
need to submit a passport that should be valid for a minimum of 180 days with
at least 2 photographs and 2 blank pages.

India Visa For children below 16 years
- Copy of the birth certificate of child with the
name of at least one parent mentioned.
- A consent letter that should be signed by both

India Visa For Non-UK Citizens
It is necessary to provide proof of residence in
the UK for 2 years in the form of utility bill, tenancy agreements or council
tax bills. However, mobile bills or bank statements will not be accepted. In
case, proof of address in the UK is not available for 2 years, then
applicants must submit an additional form and the processing may require
almost 3 weeks in such cases.
For individuals whose previous nationality was
Indian before obtaining foreign nationality:
· Copy of Indian passport Surrender Certificate
· If they have travelled to India earlier, they
are requested to provide copy of their Previous Passport with Indian
For the applicants who are Bangladeshi or
Pakistani nationals or British nationals having Pakistan Origin.
All British citizens of Pakistani origin with
dual nationality must apply for an Indian visa with their
Pakistan passport. Those who are or Pakistani origin should provide proof of
the fact that their previous Pakistani nationality has been surrendered.
Other documents required for India Visa are the

For Afghanistan and Bangladesh nationals, all
applications must include a letter from the employer and at least one month
A Business Visa is provided for the ones who are
conducting business in India like preparing for sales or establishing contacts
for a company outside India. India Business visas are usually valid for three
months to one year or more with single or multiple entries. However, the time
of stay in India for this category has been restricted to 6 months only.
When submitting application for business visa,
you will have to provide a copy of invitation letter from Indian company and
one original signed letter for the company in UK.
Urgent India Business Visa:
The ones who are applying on an Urgent 24-hour
business visa and the letter from UK organization should include reason for
your urgent travel and a statement confirming that all expenses will be
undertaken by the company. The Indian invitation letter must include the time

India Employment Visa:
An Employment Visa will be granted to the ones
who are an employee of an Indian company / or who want to do a non-profitable
social service with Registered NGOs in India. The Consulate or Embassy may
provide an Employment visa valid for 1 year regardless of the duration of

extension of maximum 5 years from FRRO / MHA in the concerned state in India.
These extensions are usually done on a yearly basis.
If you need to apply for an India visa for
employment, all the applicants must earn a salary of minimum USD 25,000.
However, there are some exceptions to this rule. For example, this will not
be applicable for charity workers who want to commence unpaid jobs. Fashion
designers who are employed in the handicraft sector will be excused from this
requirement during the first two years of employment.
An employment contract will be mandatory in all
cases. This contract must be signed by both the parties with a clause about
the liability of taxes in India. The employer in India must issue a letter /
undertaking confirming the details and place of work. If the employer works
in an IT company in India, then the letter must confirm they are either a
part of software technology park of India with the registration number or an

Student visas will be given to the ones who want
to continue with regular studies at the recognized institutions in India. The
visa is single, double or triple entry which will be valid for the period of
study, as it has been approved by the educational institution in India.
All applicants must submit the letter from
admission with course details, confirmation of fees payment and proof of
sufficient funding in India.
India Entry Visa:
‘Entry Visa’ will be granted if the applicant
fails to meet the needs of other types of visa. For example, you will have to
submit application for ‘Entry Visa’ to India in case you need to do
short-term courses in India like mountaineering, yoga or spiritual. One can
even apply for an entry visa for those non-business activities.
The spouse and children of a person who want to
visit India for employment purpose may apply for entry visa, provided the
employment visa of main applicant has been approved earlier.
In all the cases, a letter from concerning
organization in India is needed that explains the purpose of the visit and
duration of stay.
India Intern Visa:
An Intern Visa will be granted to applicants who
want to travel to India for pursuing internship in Indian Companies,
Charities or Educational Institutes. You will be eligible for this visa only
when you have graduation degree. You will have to provide a letter from the
Indian organization on their headed paper that illustrates internship program
and period of internship. It should be kept in mind that the gap between graduation/post-graduation
and commencement of internship should not be more than 1 year.
India Conference Visa:
‘Conference Visa’ will be given to the ones who
have an invitation to a seminar, workshop or conference organized by the
Ministry or Department of Government of India, Central Educational
Institutions, State Governments, Public Sector Undertakings, An organization
owned and controlled by the Government of India or State Government, Public
Funded University, UN and its specialized agencies, reputed NGO’s. If you
have to attend a conference of a private organization, then you may apply for
a business visa.
You can apply for this purpose by submitting an
application for India e-conference visa. If a paper visa is needed, then the
applicant will require a letter from the conference organizers in India with
copy of clearance that is issued to such organizers who hold the conference.
This is usually issued to them by the local government body.
India Journalist Visa:
All the applicants employed within this media
industry should apply for a Journalist visa, despite their visit purpose. If
you are not travelling for work, the applicants should produce a letter from
the employer confirming they are on a holiday and won’t pursue any
India Film / Fashion Visa:
You have to apply for a Film Visa for India when
you plan to make a commercial film or a TV show. The Ministry of Information
and Broadcasting process and reviews visa application within 15 working days
in case filming involves sensitive issues, forest reserves, or if the
film/documentary requires aerial or underwater shooting.
After the proposal gets accepted, you will be
provided with a ‘Journalist Visa’ to travel to India for shooting.
India Research Visa:
Research scholars, professors and people who want
to attend research conferences / workshops / seminars in India should apply
for a ‘Research Visa.’ It is quite difficult to get this visa as it involves
various requirements. The processing time is long for this visa as the
applications will be sent to the Department of Education for approval that
might require minimum 3 months for approval.
If your better half and family members travel
with you, then they have to apply for an ‘Entry Visa,’ the termination period
of which will match with your visa period.
India Transit Visa:
If you have to cross India to reach the final
destination with stay period of 15 days at the most, then you will have to
apply for a ‘Transit Visa.’ This visa enables to change terminals for
connecting flights or stay in hotel for sat least some time before boarding
on to the connecting flight. This visa will be valid for both single and
double entry based on your need. The transit visa is usually valid for entry
within 3 months of issue. You cannot change the reason of a transit visa and
so, have to show proof of your confirmed ticket.

visa or a regular tourist visa to India when you transit through designated
India e-visa ports.
India Medical Visa:
You have to apply for ‘Medical Visa’ when
travelling to India for a medical treatment in a reputed hospital, treatment
center’s or specialized hospitals in India. These treatments must be
significant such as neuro-surgery, heart problems, renal disorders, eye
disorders, congenial disorders, organ transplantation, gene-therapy, joint
replacement, radio-therapy, etc.
You will have to show important documents
discussing about the kind of treatment and the sign and stamp from a
concerned doctor or hospital.
Each India medical visa enables nearly two
attendants who should be blood relatives of the patient. The attendants
should issue a separate Medical Escort visas that have same validity like
Medical visa. If any doctor is accompanying a patient, then he / she will be
granted medical attendant visa.
Medical visa shall be valid for almost 1 year or
the period of treatment, whichever may be less from issuance date.
Medical Escort Visa:
The relatives who are travelling with the patient
for the treatment to India need to apply for a ‘Medical Escort Visa.’ Medical
escort visa will be granted only when the patient has already been granted
medical visa for a treatment of disease which is serious in reputed treatment
center’s or hospitals. Only two persons will be allowed to accompany the
patient and a declaration made by the patient is required for this kind of
