Apart from citizens of Jordan and Tunisia, all other foreign nationals need a visa to enter Libya. As the United Kingdom is not a visa-exempt county, British nationals need a visa to visit Libya. Foreign nationals who are planning to enter Libya for tourism-related activities can apply for a tourist visa. Please note that these visas are issued exclusively for tourism purposes, and a foreign national is not permitted to do other operations inside Libya using these visas. 

If found guilty, authorities will be compelled to face strict actions against the visitor. In order to get a Libya tourist visa, foreign nationals should submit the documents mentioned below.

• The original signed passport of the foreign national with a minimum validity of six months should be submitted. The passport should also have one blank page for markings.
• One passport-sized photograph of the applicant should be submitted. This photograph should be taken within the last six months in a white background. In the photograph, the applicant should make sure that he or she is maintaining a neutral facial expression.
• An employment letter issued by the traveler’s company in the United Kingdom should be submitted. Please note that this letter is addressed to the High Commission of Libya. Libya business visa

• The passport of the applicant should be submitted. The passport should have a validity of six months and adequate blank pages. The applicant should also ensure that this passport do not have any Israeli stamps.
• Two recently taken passport-sized photographs of the applicant should be submitted.

Libya transit visa

Libya transit visas are issued to foreign nationals who intend to enter the country while transiting to a different destination. 

UK citizens can stay visa-free inside Libya for 24 hours while transiting. However, UK citizens should meet the below-mentioned criteria to stay visa free while transiting.

• The traveler should make sure that he or she is staying within the transit area of the airport.
